ICT and Multimedia

Almost all operations at the Malaysia National Poison Centre are ICT driven. The technology was adopted as part of the  centre’s earliest operation in 1994 and used mainly to enhance the computerised drug and poison information service. The usage and the necessity of ICT expanded along with the centre’s development and, is today, a key feature in all of its operations. ICT is now largely applied to design, develop and produce the centre’s health educational tools and media products. As part of its commitment to build human capital, the centre also accepts IT undergraduates from community colleges as attachment trainees on advanced IT applications.  To date, more than 500 college undergraduates have benefitted from this programme.
