Islamabad (Pakistan) - Pakistan’s new military government said it had the right to match any new Indian nuclear tests, irrespective of the nuclear Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. The country’s Foreign Minister was quoted as saying, that if India conducts another nuclear explosion before the CTBT enters into force, Pakistan has the right to do the same.
The CTBT, which neither Pakistan nor India has signed, would outlaw nuclear test explosions, but can only go into effect once it is ratified by all 44 nuclear-capable nations.
