PRN and DBP Team Up to Craft Children's Book Manuscripts

In a major push to elevate children's health education, 17 writers from the PRN participated in a specialized virtual manuscript workshop on January 21, 2026, held in collaboration with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP). Led by DBP Senior Editor Puan Azihani binti Md Mizan, the session guided authors through the essential techniques of storytelling, focusing on plot development, character building, and the "edutainment" approach to make complex safety messages accessible to young children.

Writers explored various formats, including picture books and informative illustrated guides, while learning the rigorous standards of DBP’s publication process, from storyboard preparation to ethical writing guidelines and language style. Building on the success of last year’s 12-title "Smoke-Free" series, this strategic partnership aims to produce a new wave of high-quality, ethically grounded manuscripts that combine creative literary flair with vital public health information for the next generation.
