Bebas Rokok Children Books Series

Introducing Siri Bebas Rokok: Engaging Anti-Smoking Storybooks.

Through collaboration with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), PRN has published the Smoke-Free Series (Siri BAR), a collection of 12 engaging children’s storybooks. This series was developed based on research findings by The Clearinghouse for Tobacco Control and is presented in a fun and easily understandable narrative for all members of society.

The books in this series highlight the dangers of smoking to humans, animals, and the environment, aligning with the aspirations of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) to nurture a healthy, knowledgeable, smoke-free generation.

Interestingly, six titles from the BAR Series were showcased and sold for the first time to the public at the recent Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (PBAKL). The positive response from visitors demonstrates society’s interest in quality, educational reading materials related to tobacco control issues among children and families.

These books were officially launched during the opening ceremony of the National Tobacco Control Conference (NTCC), which took place on May 31, 2025, at the University of Cyberjaya. The launch was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health, and witnessed by Dr. Nur Azzalia Kamaruzaman, Director of the National Poison Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Puan Fauzilahyatun Mustafa, Director of Policy and Research Department, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. This launch marks another important achievement in PRN’s efforts to contribute to policy development and knowledge dissemination on tobacco control issues.
