National Poison Centre Earns 5-Leaf Rating in Green Office Audit 2024

The National Poison Centre (PRN) proudly achieved the highest 5-Leaf rating in the 2024 Green Office Rating Ceremony, held at Dewan Budaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on 30 October 2024. PRN’s commitment to fulfilling all the criteria set forth in the Green Office audit reflects its ongoing efforts to support USM’s vision of sustainability.

Despite operating from a temporary office space and facing several limitations, PRN accepted the challenge to participate in this year’s green audit. Among PRN’s key sustainability initiatives were campaigns promoting green practices through e-poster dissemination, energy-saving efforts such as switching off office lights during lunchtime, and the use of indoor green plants to improve air quality and the working environment.

PRN also prioritised the procurement of certified eco-friendly products, in line with green procurement principles. Staff involvement in community-based sustainability awareness programmes also played a crucial role in the success of this initiative.

PRN aims to continue enhancing its efforts and ensuring full compliance with green office criteria in the years ahead, in alignment with the university’s goal of building a more sustainable future.
