Technical Training Boosts Lab Efficiency and Reduces Maintenance Costs

   

PRNLab served as the hub for a specialized technical course on GC-MS Laboratory Equipment Maintenance from October 16 to 17, 2025. The course was designed to enhance the technical proficiency of 15 USM "Scheme C" science staff in managing Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) systems.

Facilitated by PRN’s own Dr. Normaliza Binti Abdul Manaf, Norjuliana Binti Mohd. Noor, and Siti Salwa Sabran, the training covered everything from ion source cleaning to chromatogram data interpretation. By equipping staff with self-maintenance skills, the Centre expects to achieve significant savings in laboratory equipment service costs while maintaining high operational standards.
